THE STORY
Their owner said he'd come back for them as soon as he could. He didn't. Now two pet rats who have never seen the cruel world are alone in a big, wet city that doesn't notice them.
Everyone they meet says the same thing: nobody's coming for you. Sal and Ben don't argue. They keep walking home.
THE PAIR

- Sal: light grey, felt hat, round dark glasses. Double jump and climbing.
- Ben: dark, pink ears, yellow hard hat. Dash and ram.
- Q switches who leads. The way home needs both.
WHAT'S IN THE DEMO
- A city at rat height: rooftops, a dark collector, a mine, an aqueduct, a market, a boat station.
- Bosses: a giant snail, an angry red one, the Stink Rat mechanic and his bucket tank, and more we won't spoil.
- An eight-lane race in the rain, piranhas, a flashlight built from parts, prisoners to free one key at a time.
- English and Ukrainian. Controller support, rebindable keys, reduced motion.
STATUS
Early demo, in development. Plays in the browser on a computer or a phone (on-screen controls on phones). The first load is about 190 MB on a computer and a bit more on a phone, after that your browser keeps it.

HOW THIS STARTED

These are my two rats.
One evening I asked an AI to draw them. Just one picture, for fun.
Then I wanted them to move. Then to jump. Then they needed somewhere to go, and someone to tell them nobody was coming.
That was a few months ago. Now it's a game, and they are Sal and Ben.
The real ones still have no idea.

And this is me, the one making it.
HOW IT'S MADE
One developer working with AI agents:
- Code: written with Claude (Anthropic) and Codex (OpenAI) agents, directed and reviewed by the developer.
- Art: characters, creatures and story illustrations are made with AI image generation, then cut into parts and animated in code.
- Story and dialogue: drafted with Claude from the developer's outline, edited by the developer.
- Music and sound: CC0 recordings from Freesound, plus tracks and effects generated with Suno.
- Fonts: Literata, Source Sans 3 (SIL OFL). Engine: Unity 6.

Suck here...
Thanks for playing and for the screenshot! Did you get stuck here, or did something feel off? Tell me what you didn't like, I'm reading everything and fixing it very fast.
I never managed to jump up to the top.
It would be great if hints were provided not just at the beginning, but also in situations where a player gets stuck and doesn't realize which mechanic they should use.
ty, in progress
